bookstores … libraries

It’s true that Brownstone Books formerly on Stuyvesant Avenue in Bed-Stuy closed down (and a restaurant will soon take its place).  That made me curious to know what other options for getting books and modes of exchange exist in the vicinity besides public libraries.  Here’s a front-stoop magazine and book exchange (to left) that I’ve noticed for a couple years (usually has books and mags in it) on Nostrand.  And Do the Reading is one of several independent and – somehow -radical bookshops that also sit along Nostrand Avenue in Bed-Stuy.
